One in three children haven't been taught how to dial 999: Fears youngsters are not being given vital lessons in what to do during an emergency

- Nearly half of parents have not taught their children how to dial 999 - and many youngsters think the emergency number is 911, a study found.Many said their children were not mature enough to learn the life-saving skill.Shockingly, an even greater number said their children would not know the difference between 999 and 911, the emergency number in the US. The survey raises fears that many youngsters are not being taught vital lessons about what to do in an emergency.
In my opinion I believe that this is quite unsettling as if in the 21st century young children do not know who to call when they are in an emergency then they have not been taught well and it also means an increase in a chance of danger or harm coming to the young children if they are not able to find a way of getting help
